It's my first time sharing on Rednesday with Sue over at It's A Very Cherry World! I'm so excited!
This is my red chair! It's a overstuffed, leather chair that I have in my bedroom. I love spending time reading in this wonderful chair. It's just big enough for me and one of my kids, which means it's our favorite chair to share stories in.
The last book Baby Girl and I shared in this chair was Dragonrider by Cornelia Funke. If you haven't read this with one of your kids (2nd grade or older) it is a must read! It's a huge book - 525 pages, but it's a remarkable book about an orphan boy who meets up with a dragon who's on a journey to save the last of the living dragons. It captured both my attention and Baby Girl's attention! We looked forward to reading it together every night. I also read this to my 3rd grade class last year - they loved it!
There on the ottoman is my Kindle. I'll blog about that later, but as you see, it's also red! Thanks for visiting me on Rednesday!
That looks like a nice cozy spot to sit and read. I'm currently reading "The House on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet." Doesn't that sound like a great title?
ReplyDeleteYou have to read "The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane" to the two little runners. I read it to the Sewing Bee and Baby Bee and even Worker Bee this summer. I've got to get her new book soon!

I love the chair, for its size and sassy color. Growing up we had an old real leather chair. When we were small Dad could sit there we 2 of the 4 kids. We would usually fight over who was going to share the chair with Daddy. My brother ended up with the chair and actually had it redone, forever erasing that time worn patina of the leather. I hope that you and your family also find that time worn patina. It will mean alot of stories being read.

That chair looks like you could sink right in and never want to get up! I love that you read to your daughter in that chair. It's not just about the reading, it's quality time spent together! I hope I see you next week to see more reds!

ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than an overstuffed chair. They are great when they are so super cushy. I have 2 big brown club chairs in my apartment that are still pretty firm cuz I never sit in them. I need to make a habbit of sitting in them every day so that one day I can put them in the corner of the room and call it my thinking chair. And I will sit there in my viking helmet and make proclamations for the good of society. Or maybe... maybe I will just have a beer. yea, that might be easier.
